So some miralces from this week! We went over to Kathe and George this week. I think I have talked about them before but they are in their late 80's and the cutest couple in the world. I will have to send a picture. Kathe is the one who joined the church as a young mother and George followed when he was 68. wow! All she talks about is how much she loves george and how much she wants every one to know about the gospel. She is sOOO cute! We went on a little walk with her again and she said "I want to go this way so that everyone can see you two wonderful missionaries!" :) Well we sat down after our walk and gave them our message--to invite someone to church. Last time we were there they told us about this woman named Elizabeth who is a poet. Kathe met Elizabeth at the library and Elizabeth gave Kathe her book she had written. Kathe took it home to read and came upon a poem about how she was searching for God. Kathe immediatly told George.. "THis woman is searching for the church!" ... They got incontact with her through the library and kathe invited her over for dinner to express her appreciation to her and to tell her about the church. What GUTts this woman has!! I hope i can be like her when i go home. Well Elizabeth came for dinner and Kathe told her all about how she had come to find the church. Kathe told us all about the experience when we went on our walk. Kathe was hoping that she would call back and want to come again.. George was laughing and said hopefully she isnt scared away. Right then!.. the phone rings. Guess who it is. Elizabeth! And guess what she was so interested about the premortal life.. she had been thinking about it. So what did Kathe do.. She just invited her over and said these two syster missionaries can come too and they can tell you all about it. LOVE IT! I couldnt believe my eyes as I sat there listening to Kathe invited her to learn more about the church. This was a little miracle that made my day. probably made my week. So we are going to have dinner with them this saterday. Elizabeth is 78ish.. but better late then never ;)
Manal! Our favorite investigator from Lebanon. She came back last week! We had the greatest Pday ever. We just hung out in Alingsås with her. We even made home-made falafals! It was delish... :) We had a great lesson with her to see were she is with the gospel and wanting to get baptized. Of course she just needs a real confirmation of the Book of Mormon. We totally agree. We also spoke quite a bit about how she would attend church in Lebanon or how the church will work there. She really isn't too worried in her words, "If there's a will there's a way." She is already willing to build up the church if that is what needs to happen. Love her! That would be so cool!
So thursday we had a little miracle with the sad news. We were unsure of what to do for our evening. We contemplated going home or not and it took us forever to make a decision. We almost got off the bus 3 times and finally got all the way home. In the parking lot was a friend of Kanaans (Manal's husband) and Manal were waiting for him to come home. Turns out Kanaan's mom died. Within 3 minutes he came home and we were able to be there for him. Wow! What a miracle! We then made them dinner because they had no time. Manal and Kanaan packed and booked plane tickets for the next morning. It felt so good to serve in such a desperate time of need. I was so thankful to the Lord and his spirit that led us home where we were needed. It was really hard for Kanaan.. he has now lost both his parents. We sat in the bedroom for a little while helping.. and it was so sad and hard to listen to this man who is so strong.. cry. He has a hard time believing in God and Manal is very much the oppostite.
So.. We will see when she comes back.
Well! I think that is enough miracles for the day. I love you all and want you to know that I pray for you all.

June 11: Sacrifice
Kära Familj!
It is not summer here in sweden. It has decided to go back to spring. Lots of rain and clouds. But that can't stop the dynamic syster S's. Lots of people got called this week to be transfered. But not syster sprague and I! yahhoO! so we are excited. We think we will be together till July. We have much to do! We have 5 awesome investigators that we have much hope for. All of them are swedish and most of them are member's friends. This makes the chances of them accepting the gospel and going to the temple one day much higher. I just keep imagining each of them and how their lives could change if they accept the gospel. There is so much more to life! This morning I read a talk from the converense addition of the liahona.. the talk from Oaks called sacrifice. I loved how he talked about our lives are offerings to the Lord. He talks about a few different examples of how members sacrifice things for the Lord. One being missionaries, others being temple workers. But my favorite part was his last one. Possibly one of the greatest sacrifices we as church members make are in our families. Mothers and fathers and what they sacrifice for the family. Others on the outside might say... this isnt worth it if you have to sacrifice so much. But it truley i the sacrifice that makes it all the better and so worth it. I cant tell you how many times I tell people how grateful I am for the gospel in my family and how it affected my life. I totally have the best family ever! :)
I dont have much time today to write.. so just know I am doing fabulous!! and love life :) I cant tell you how blessed I feel to have this chance to sacrifice for the Lord.

June 4: Miracles Always Follow
Dear family!
Its been a long time since I've heard from you all ;) What a tricky sister I have! I'm still awaiting my package katie! :) I hope the wedding went well and that it didnt rain too much. I'm glad I could be a small part of the wedding too! yay! I had a dream friday night and it felt so real.. Russ had gotten cancer and the wedding was postponed to the next day. It was terrible. I kept thinking I hope I wake up and its not true.. So! When I heard "Hello this is Russ Hill.. I'm your new brother in law" I knew for sure that the cancer story was all a dream.. phewww..
Wow. I dont know where to begin. The days were a little bit harder starting out.. We had a lot of cancelations and having to come up with a new back up backup plan. But each night my mind was spinning with all of the miracles that happened. God is here. Syster Sprague was also a little sick.. even with all of these challenges we had a very successful week!
here are some miracles:
Wednesday... everyone canceled. So we stopped before heading out and redid the plans. We decided to try and find some old investigators. We come to the first door and knock. A girl probably around 20 with lots of piercings answers the door. We were searching for a guy but he didnt live there. She heard that we were from america and just asked us to come in. I being a little cautious was thinking.. maybe we shouldnt go in.. it smells kinda funny... etc (I was thinking this in my mind). Syster Sprague saw me hesitating and looked at me like.. What are you doing?! Go in! So I shuffle in still trying to keep an escape open. Syster Sprague shakes her head at me and pulls me in further and shuts the door behind me. Shoot! the escape rout is closed. So we come in and sit on her couch. 40 mintutes later... we have explained the plan of salvation and she is still spouting off questions too fast for us to answer. We gave her a book of mormon and asked if we could come back to explain more. She said yes. As we walked out sys sprague looked at me with a gleem in her eyes.. "Do you know how many times I have knocked on a door and gotten invited in?" .. I said no.. (I haven't ever really been trackting)... "Never! That was my first one!" :)
Syster Sprague and I went on a second double date with Viktor's friend Pär. This kid is so awesome! We had planned another time to meet up with Pär and Viktor and decided on friday evening. We could have dinner. Well Viktor--keeping with the theme of the week cancels. Drats!! That was going to be the highlight of our week. Well we text Pär and tell him we still need to eat and if he wants he can join us. He surprisingly said yes! So we meet up at the train center and he has brought another friend. (I think he just didnt want to be with us alone :) As we walked up to greet them its hard to miss the look on his friend, David's face. It read "I DONT want to be here. I cant believe I am about to have dinner with two mormons.... Pär owes me.. alot!" I couldnt help but laugh.. this poor kid. I went straight up to him and asked him how much Pär was paying him to come have dinner with us.. haha. By the end David was smiling and said we weren't all that crazy.
We also got to go back to Anna's house. We couldnt teach her this week.. but we had alittle time to help her clean before her mom came. We had to run at the end and she said ... Wait! Can you come back.. I have more questions! It feels so good to know that someone wants to know about the gospel.. not just use us for service.
We had the most amazing dinner with Monica and Berit. Berit is a member and monica is her friend. Sometimes i cant help but be so grateful for the chance to be a missionary. You just take on the role of the previous missionary... you already have a friendship developed and people open up so much... you get to learn so much from others experiences. I love berit!
Ok last miracle! Sunday we had a lot of miracles.. i dont even have the energy to tell you about them all.. but in the mids of a miracle I had another miracle. We were eating dinner with a family, the missionary pair, and two non-members who we want to become investigators. We had fasted and then broken the fast. I had done alot of talking and trying to make everything go smooth.. but i was feeling really drained. And all the sudden I thought... Oh no! the spiritual message.. we dont have anything planned. ugg.. im too tired to do it. But it would be so important for these two non members. Soooo I went to the bathroom and had a little prayer. "please help me have courage, strength and energy"... Ok maybe this sounds really lame.. but its not always so easy to gather a group of talking people and bring the conversation back to spiritual. So I said the prayer and walked back into the room. I pulled out my BOM and sat down at the table. It was as if I had received energy from picking up the BOM. I felt excited to share something about this book that i love so much. All the sudden I had a great idea of which scripture to share and what question to ask. And sys spr was great and caught on. IT WAS SOO GOOD! and we invited one of the non members (Pär--the one i went on a double date with last week ;) to learn more and he said yah!
OK! enough of the miracles. I LOVE YOU ALL!

May 28: Summer Is Here!
dear family!
well! this week has been as marvelous as ever :) Let me just say summer came and it came fast. Last week it rained. This week it was sunnnny! Almost too sunny for sys sprague and me. We are so used to the cold. But with the sun comes more people! It feels like the town has doubled!
I had a chance during the week to talk to Maj (from Uppsala). She is having a hard time with things. It was WONDERFUL to talk to this amazing woman. I can't even describe how much I have grown to love her. Its amazing that special bond that is created when you help bring them into the gospel. I cant wait till you can meet her. :)
Alingsås has been so nice and we had amazing streak of member teaches. It was almost one everyday! Having members on teaches is HUGE! it makes the biggest difference. So you should all go out with the missionaries. :) The coolest part was that three of them are members friends. The member did the setting up of the appointment and we just got to follow along. ah man! it was amazing. This week we are meeting two more. The way this ward has shot up is astounding. Sometimes I feel like I never want to leave. I almost don't want to teach without a member they bring so much to the table that we simply cannot. Those investigators need them.
Here are some other fun moments from the week:
This week we went on a double date! haha ok not really. I went with Pär (the to be investigator) and Sys sprague went with our fabulous to be missionary Viktor! Viktor has grown up with Pär and asked him if he wanted to meet up. We had fika (a little snack) outside of a cafe and got to know Pär. He thinks "mormon girls are cool!" He has asked Viktor about the church a lot.. so we are hoping he shows more intereseted in the church than us. We shall see what happens.
Viktor has a little syster who is having a hard time with the church. Sofia! We love her. She is super cute. We finally were able to meet up and have ice cream. (perfect for this hot weather). It was amazing!!! She opened up and told us about whats going on in her life now and what happened that made her start going in-active. She is a really strong girl. We have convinced her to go to EFY!!!!! WAHOOO!! We secretly want to go with her ;) you think the president would approve? And the ice cream was super tasty! It was really good that Syster Sprauge is my companion because she has had a similar time period in her life where she went inactive. That morning before we went out I asked syster sprague if she had told Sofia about her life. She looked at me with some hesitation... nooo and i dont really want to. She said, it feels hard for her to tell these stories. But, as we sat there... the ice cream must have loosened her up because out came her story! I love hearing about peoples inactive periods in their lives and why they chose to come back and if the gospel really did make them happier.
WE PLAYED KUBB!!!!!!! for district meeting on wednesday. It was a good thing i was there because they didnt quite remember all the rules. Of course due to my intense mother.. I KNOW THE RULES. It brought back some good memories. Just in case you were wondering.. the missionaries are not quite as intense. ;) And I am still just as bad as ever.. but so are all of them.. so it equaled out.
Lastly, I love studying my scriptures every morning. I dont know how it works.. but without fail I always feel a sense of peace that comes over me. And it gets even better when syster sprague and I get to talk about it during our companionship study. One day we were in the middle of a great discussion and my clock beeped (signaling the end of the hour.. also the end of companionship study and time to do language study)... I couldn't help by let out a sound of disappointment "ah, Dang it!" I caught syster sprague off guard and she just bust up laughing. Since then every time it beeps we say "ah dang it!" We just love our spiritual discussions.. what can i say!
KATIE!! HAVE A GREAT WEDDING!! WISH I WAS THERE!! I got your invite and i have you hanging up on my wall by my bed.. so every morning you and russ are looking down at me.. kinda creepy sometimes hah

May 21: Korv in the Rain with Laughing Fits
Dear Family!
It is so good to hear from you all! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM AND
DAD!!!! Even though I just talked to you all for an hour last week... I
was filled with bubbles of happiness to see all of your letters.
Katie!!! I cant believe you are a doctor!! Man, good to know that all
that work, sweat, tears, stress.... etc. was worth it. I still think I'm
going to stick with being a nurse. ;)
Where to begin. . . This week has been as fabulous as ever!
Sometimes it seems that things are just trying to bombard you and make
you have a terrible day. That is what Tuesday started out with. All the
sunshine left and big dark clouds settled over Alingsås. We were about
to head out for the day when Richard (our new amazing investigator)
texted us and said.. I cant meet till after Maj. My heart sunk! After May?! He had just told us he had all week free. My first thought was..
who in the world has he been talking to or what did he read on the
internet. Then as we were walked outside to get on our bikes Lennarth
or other progressing investigator calls and says.. "I don't want to be
baptized.. I'm not convinced about the Book of Mormon!".. I calmly walked
him through and said he didn't have to get baptized nor did we want him
to get baptized until he got an answer about the BOM. Would he still be
willing to meet until he received an answer. He thought about it
and reluctantly answered yes. Then as we are about to hop on our bikes
and Syster Sprague's bike broke down. It was at this point where I felt
like exploding and just walking back inside when Syster Sprague just
busted up laughing. And then we couldn't stop laughing. We fixed the bike
and headed off on the way. Just in case satan was going to try another
trick--I couldn't help but shouting out loud "don't even waste your
time!" It was a fabulous day. We ended up meeting with both Richard and
Lennarth and the bikes are still working :) So when something goes
wrong.. Don't let it be the beginning of a bad day. Get rid of it with a
nice laugh and smile. It works every time.
You might be wondering why I titled my letter "Korv in the rain
with laughing fits"... the laughing fits is because I think I almost
peed my pants three times this week. One time we were going to knock on a
referrals door and we couldn't even move we were laughing so hard. Our laughter just echoed
throughout the stairwell. I'm sure people wondered what was going on!
The Korv is another story. We had come home from our District
Meeting on Thursday and our teach had been cancelled. So we had some back
up plans and one person that we stopped by was this old woman in the
ward. Her name is Viviann.. and this woman is on top of her missionary
game! Just that Sunday Freddy (an old man who had a stroke) came to
church and he has an assistant that comes with him. It was a young
looking guy and as the meeting was part way through a replacement came
for him. As he sneaked out to go Viviann got up real fast and right as he
was sneaking out the door she caught him and invited him to sit next to
her to stay for the rest of the meeting :) He said Nej tack. But that
doesn't matter! She invited him! So we stopped by to say hi and see if
there was anything we could do for her. She had just warmed up two
hotdogs (Korv) to eat for dinner. We were already quite full from our
dinner but she offered us the korv.. and so we politely started to eat
them. We thought okej.. we can force down these two and then hopefully
that is all we will have to eat... Viviann then warmed up 5 more!! and
then cut them up and offered them to us. Oh my goodness.. She probably
ate one korv and we both had the other four. When you are already full
and have just eaten a korv and then are asked to force down another
two.. I might not sound like much to you.. But it hurt! These are LONG
HOT DOGS! ugg. But it was worth it! because she gave us a referral at the
end! :) I love old people.
This week was also amazing because we really worked on having
members at our teaches. Friday was the big highlight! We had three
lessons set up with members! We were super excited. And with each
lesson.. I was so grateful we had a member there. Even though I can
speak Swedish.. I still can't always explain everything perfectly.. My
favorite teach was with Ulf and Anne Marie. Ulf is married to Anne
Marie.. I think I have talked about him before. But he is awesome. We
sat down to eat and he brought up the church conversation. He used to
have a problem with drinking.. but he is under control of it now and
still likes to drink his beer on the weekends. We think this is part of
the problem for him not really wanting to progress and learn more. He
told us he isn't open again and that it wont work trying to talk to some
one who isn't open. We totally agreed with him.. which I think threw him
off. So when we started out lesson we just said "ok, so we have a lesson
for you Anne Marie!" and Ulf smiled and jumped right into the
discussion. Working with Swedish people takes a lot of work! Probably
working with everyone takes a lot of work. :) But he is making
some progress even if it is slow. I really do love this man. He is so
soft and kind and yet looks a little scary on the outside. We took
pictures afterwards so I'll send you some.
Our last teach that day was with Richard and Viktor. Viktor is
getting ready to go on a mission and comes on one teach with us every
week now. He goes on his mission really soon and we know he is going to
be awesome! We even role played with him before our teach and exactly
what he asked us was the question that our investigator had. It was
amazing! We have been working on our teaching and focusing on certain
points to make sure things are clear to people. All in trying to answer
the why.. for our investigators. So like...why did we need a
restoration..? we focus on the apostasy! Or why are we here and why do
we need a savior..? the focus is Gods plan and the fall of Adam and Eve.
These two points are very important and we have found sometimes are not
understood quite right.
Lastly we were on the train and I sat next to this kid. He kept
nodding off.. he looked so tired. I finally just asked him why he was so
tired. He was surprised and told us he had been up for the past 2 days
trying to finish school work. I smiled and talked to him a little more.
He paused when he found out we were from America and said "WHY DIDN'T YOU
SAY SO!" and said he was Canadian and switched into English.. haha. As
he was getting of the train, he reached his hand over and said, "thank
